This year, iPhone and iPad are not the only Apple devices that have received a huge update with the release of iOS 10. For Apple Watch owners, after installing iOS 10, the next step is to get WatchOS 3.However, if you have just updated to WatchOS 3 and you tried to take a screenshot by simply pressing the side button and the Digital Crown, something we have been accustomed to since the day one of the Apple Watch, you may have noticed that nothing happens.
If you are experiencing the issue, you are not the only one. In reality, Apple has disabled this feature in WatchOS 3, as it clashes with a new feature in WatchOS 3 where you press the same buttons to pause or resume a workout on your watch.
If you wish to bring back this exciting feature, yes, you can do it. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to re-enable screenshots on Apple Watch in WatchOS 3
Steps to re-enable screenshots on Apple Watch in WatchOS 3
Step one: First and foremost, lift your iPhone up and head to the Watch app on your device. Once you are in the app, go to My Watch tab and tap on General
Step two: Swipe down till you see the “Enable Screenshots” option. All you have to do now is to tap on the toggle next to it to re-enable screenshots on Apple Watch in WatchOS 3
Step three: Once you are done, you now can press the Digital Crown and side buttons to take screenshots that will be saved in the Camera roll on the paired iPhone.
As noted above, WatchOS 3 includes a new shortcut to pause or resume a workout in progress which requires you to press both side and Digital Crown buttons. This means that if you enable screenshots, the next time you press the both buttons to pause or resume a workout, you will also take a screenshot.
Luckily, WatchOS 3 offers a different way to pause and resume your workout. To do this, you head to My Watch in the watch app, select Workout and tap on the toggle next to the Running Auto Pause. When this is on, your workout will automatically pause when you stop moving and resume when you start moving.
