Huawei is currently one of the world’s biggest smartphone makers. The Chinese firm has its own ground in international markets like the US or the UK. Huawei is best known for providing its affordable devices at cheap rates. The company is facing a lot of competition in the local market, so they are trying to do their best to retain their ground.
Earlier this year, the company announced the P10 flagship phone. Basically, the P lineup of smartphones has been Huawei’s main focus in recent years. The P series has been widely welcomed on the market, with praise directed at its premium design and exciting features.
The P10 is a huge upgrade over its previous models, with an improved design, smarter fingerprint scanner, and better portrait mode. However, Huawei is not just about phones, as it also offers tablets on the market.
The Chinese firm has just announced a new tablet called the MediaPad M5. The tablet will be available in two screen sizes including 8-inch and 10.8-inch. The MediaPad M5 will be the first tablet to sport a curved 2.5D display, allowing for much-improved picture quality and more details.
Huawei announced that both devices will be available in the US this year. Users can buy the tablet from Amazon and Newegg. Tech experts say that the new tablet will help Huawei boost its sales performance during this year’s holiday season.
In terms of specs, both versions of the tablet will be fueled by the company’s own Kirin 960 Octacore processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM. Besides, both versions will have 128GB of native storage with support for microSD expansion. When it comes to the camera, both devices will feature a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing selfie shooter.
The device features a fingerprint scanner on the front for faster unlock process. The 8.4-inch model will pack a 5100mAh battery, while the larger model will come with a 7500mAh power pack. Both versions of the tablet will run Android 8.0 Oreo at launch this year, offering a much-improved performance under the hood.
Huawei says that users can order the tablet right now at Amazon and Newegg for $319 (8.4-inch model) and $349 (10.8-inch model).
