Apple’s stock Notes app is getting better and better every time Apple releases a new software update. In iOS 10, the Cupertino company introduced collaboration, allowing users to share their notes with others. This year, Apple has added a long-awaited document-scanning functionality to its stock Notes app, letting iPhone and iPad owners quickly scan a document without the need for a third-party app.
However, Apple’s stock Notes app is not just restricted to sharing, creating notes, or scanning documents. Apple is now offering the formatting options, allowing users to do a lot more things with their notes, like adding tables to a note, creating checklists or formatting a shopping list.
In this guide, we will show you how to use the formatting options in Notes on your iPhone and iPad. Before we begin, make sure you are now running a modern version of iOS. If not, update your device first.
How to use the formatting options in Notes on your iPhone and iPad

How to create titles and headings in Notes on your iPhone and iPad
Step one: First off, launch the Notes app on your iPhone and iPad. After that, hit the New Note button located at the bottom right corner of the screen and then hit the Aa icon to proceed
Step two: Next up, tap Title and then enter the text you wish to use as a Title. Once you are done, hit Heading and type in the text you wish to use as a heading
Step three: If you want to turn the existing text into a Title or Heading, double- tap the existing text within the Notes app and repeat the above steps.

How to format lists in Notes on your iPhone and iPad
The Notes app offers three different types of formatting lists that help you better organize your notes. The process is pretty simple and we will show you how in the section below.
Step one: Launch the Notes app from your home screen and then hit the New Note button to proceed
Step two: Hit the Aa icon to open the formatting options and then select the formatting list you wish to use.

Step two: Hit the table button and then hit the More button. After that, select Add Column or Delete Column to proceed
