  1. How to create a custom ringtone on your Mac or Window PC

To set a custom ringtone on your iPhone, you first need to create it on your computer. If you need help, you can follow our steps below.
Step one: First off, connect your iPhone to a Mac or a Windows PC and then launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTunes on your machine. If not, update iTunes first)
Step two: Next up, click on Songs from the left-side bar. From here, you will see a list of all the songs you have synced to your iPhone. Select the song you wish to set it as your default ringtone and then right-click on it. After that, select Song Info from the drop-down menu to proceed
Step three: Once you do that, you will see a dialog box (make sure you select the Options tab). After that, check the boxes next to Start and Stop below, and then enter your desired start and stop times. Once you are done, hit the Done button to proceed
Step four: You will be taken back to your music library and then select the song. After that, click on File, hover the cursor over Convert and then select Create AAC Version
Step five: To set a song as your default ringtone, it needs to have the .m4a extension. To do this, right-click on the song with AAC format and select Show in Finder from your pull-down menu
Step six: Rename the song to name of the song.m4r. After that, head back to your iTunes and select your iPhone from the menu (if you don’t see your device, try re-connecting your iPhone to your computer)
Step seven: Hit Tones and move the .m4r song file to the Tones section in iTunes. Once you do that, it will be transferred to your connected iPhone.
