Last year, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus had a daring change, which was the removal of the standard 3.5mm headphone jack, instead requiring a new pair of wireless Bluetooth earbuds called AirDrops to play music or get connected to your computer. AirPods are a great pair of wireless headphones, as they combine perfectly Apple’s unmistakable design and high-end techs.
However, Apple’s new wireless Bluetooth earbuds have their own issues. In this case, many users have reported that their AirPods keep disconnecting from iPhone during calls. If you are among those who have been affected by the issue, we believe that we can help you out. Before we begin, make sure that you have your AirPods fully charged.
Tips to fix AirPods get disconnected from iPhone during calls issue
Allow one AirPod to work as a microphone during calls
Normally, both AirPods work as microphones during your calls, but at times enabling only one to work may do the thing. Here is how you can do this
Step one: First off, you need to launch the Settings app on your iPhone and head to Bluetooth
Step two: Once you are in, all you need to do is to tap on “i” button and tap on Microphone. After that, you will be presented with two options including Always Left AirPod and Always Right AirPod. Select your option and exit the Settings app
Disable Automatic Ear Detection
One of the best things with AirPods is that they feature “Automatic Ear Detection” technology. Basically, your AirPods will automatically start working every time you put them in your ears. However, turning it off may do the trick
Step one: First off, you need to launch the Settings app from your home screen and head to Bluetooth
Step two: Once you are done, you simply need to tap on “i” button next to AirPods and turn off Automatic Ear Detection
Try re-pairing your AirPods
Step one: Launch the Settings app and go to Bluetooth. After that, simply tap on “i” button next to AirPods and tap on “Forget this device”
Step two: Once you are done, reboot your device and try paring your AirPods with your iPhone
